Baseball Game Preview: Trinity Shamrocks vs. Bishop McDevitt Crusaders

The Trinity Shamrocks will challenge the Bishop McDevitt Crusaders at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Trinity's last matchup with East Pennsboro could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Wednesday. The Shamrocks lost 8-0 to the Panthers. The defeat continues a trend for the Shamrocks in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost seven in a row.

Trinity saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Garreth Calder, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

The home team had won the previous five meetings between Bishop McDevitt and Carlisle, and Carlisle kept the tradition alive. The Crusaders took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Thundering Herd on Wednesday. That's two games in a row now that the Crusaders have lost by exactly five runs.

Easton Comp made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with one stolen base.

Bishop McDevitt's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Trinity, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.

Trinity beat Bishop McDevitt 8-5 in their previous meeting back in March. Will the Shamrocks repeat their success, or do the Crusaders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
