Baseball Recap: Covenant Christian Gets the Win

Covenant Christian was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Saugatuck on Tuesday. The Chargers blew past the Trailblazers 15-2. The Chargers haven't had any issues with the Trailblazers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Josh Schuiteman was incredible, firing off two home runs, seven RBI, and one stolen base while going 3-for-4. J.D. Schimmel was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Covenant Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Saugatuck only posted a batting average of .238.

Covenant Christian's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Saugatuck, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Trailblazers beat Covenant Christian by a score of 6-0 later that day.
