Basketball Recap: Marysville Takes a Loss

Marysville was the 58-49 winner over Hilliard Darby when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The match between the Marysville Monarchs and the Hilliard Darby Panthers didn't end well, with the Marysville Monarchs falling 73-58. While losing is never fun, the Monarchs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 280th, while the Panthers are ranked 53rd).

Marysville has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Hilliard Darby, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-1.

Marysville won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Worthington Christian at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Hilliard Darby, they will take on Grove City at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Grove City is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.3 points per game this season.
