Softball Game Preview: West Point Dragons vs. Camelback Spartans

The West Point Dragons will take on the Camelback Spartans at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

West Point's tournament run continued when they took on Heritage Academy on Saturday. West Point lost 15-1 to Heritage Academy. The match marked the Dragons' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

West Point saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabby Rodiguez, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Camelback fell victim to Dobson and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Mustangs, falling 31-0. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, the Spartans' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

West Point has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. Camelback dropped their record down to 1-5 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Everything went West Point's way against Camelback in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, as West Point made off with a 12-1 victory. Will West Point repeat their success, or does Camelback have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
