Basketball Game Preview: Cole Cougars vs. Randolph Ro-Hawks

Cole has gone 10-0 against Randolph recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Cole Cougars will look to defend their home court against the Randolph Ro-Hawks at 7:30 p.m. Cole has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 190 points over their last three matches.

Last Friday, Cole beat Marion 63-56.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cole to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jayvin Ybarra, who went 7 for 12 on his way to 22 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. That's the most steals Ybarra has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Beckstrom, who went 7 for 12 on his way to 20 points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Randolph, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They escaped with a win on Tuesday against Marion by the margin of a single free throw, 37-36.

Randolph pushed their record up to 19-3 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Cole, their win bumped their record up to 18-7.

Cole beat Randolph 54-47 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Does Cole have another victory up their sleeve, or will Randolph turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
