Volleyball Recap: Maumee's Run of Five Straight Victories Now Over

It was a good run, but Maumee unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-match winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to the Lake Flyers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Flyers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on September 4th.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-14, 25-21.

Maumee's offense was headlined by Sydney Genot and Hayden Vascik, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Brooke Kwiatkowski and her 20 assists. Genot was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Lake can attribute much of their success to Calli Conley, who had 16 digs and two assists.

Maumee's loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Lake, the win snapped their losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 14-5 record.

Maumee wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Eastwood on the 2nd. As for Lake, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Otsego on the 2nd.
