Basketball Game Preview: South Allegheny Gladiators vs. Trinity Shamrocks

The South Allegheny Gladiators will face off against the Trinity Shamrocks at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. South Allegheny is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.

South Allegheny is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They walked away with a 55-47 victory over Bishop Guilfoyle.

Meanwhile, Trinity waltzed into their game on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They claimed a resounding 82-46 win over the Bulldogs. The Shamrocks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 contests by 21 points or more this season.

South Allegheny better focus on containing Andre Steele and Owen Schlager as the pair were huge in Trinity's win. Steele shot 46% from the field on his way to 20 points and six assists, while Schlager went 6-for-11 en route to 20 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals. Schlager is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in each of the last 24 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Reece Brown, who shot 75% from the field to rack up 17 points.

Trinity was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. They are 21-3 when they've passed the ball that well.

South Allegheny's record now sits at 20-3. As for Trinity, their record is now 22-6.
