Basketball Recap: Mesa Snags 13th Win in Last 16 Games

With a playoff win on the line, Mesa rose to the challenge on Friday. They blew past the Tolleson Wolverines 60-38. The Jackrabbits have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 22 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mesa to victory, but perhaps none more so than Joshua Stewart, who en route to 16 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Stewart a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Daijon Grayson, who to rack up 14 points in addition to six steals and five assists.

Mesa has been performing well recently as they've won 13 of their last 16 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. This is the second loss in a row for Tolleson and nudges their season record down to 11-15.

Looking ahead, Mesa will take on Tucson High Magnet School at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Mesa's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six games. Tolleson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
