Preview: Traders Point Christian Knights vs. Horizon Christian

Traders Point Christian is 7-1 against Horizon Christian since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Traders Point Christian Knights will head out on the road to face off against Horizon Christian at 7:30 p.m. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.

Traders Point Christian's 18-7 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They were dealt a 87-43 loss at the hands of Covenant Christian on Saturday. Traders Point Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-16.

Traders Point Christian's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Gage Fisher, who scored 16 points along with 7 rebounds, and Andrew Hensley who scored 16 points along with 5 assists. The contest was Hensley's third in a row with at least ten points.

Meanwhile, Horizon Christian was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 57-53 to Calvary Christian. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Horizon Christian came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 49th, while Calvary Christian is ranked 137th).

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Brayden Mathews, who scored 18 points along with 8 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Landyn Loring, who scored 13 points.

The losses dropped Traders Point Christian to 1-3 and Covenant Christian to 4-1.

Tuesday's contest is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Traders Point Christian have been dynamite from deep this season, having only made 31.3% of their threes per game. However, it's not like Horizon Christian struggles in that department as they've made 45.5% of theirs this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out. Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other basketball content.

Everything went Traders Point Christian's way against Horizon Christian in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 as Traders Point Christian made off with a 59-37 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Traders Point Christian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
