Volleyball Recap: Southwest Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Southwest unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost 3-0 to the Marionville Comets on Thursday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it ten in a row.

The final score came out to 25-13, 25-12, 25-11.

Southwest lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Olivia Hnem, who had 13 digs. Another player making a difference was Abi Hnem, who had 11 digs and five assists.

Marionville's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2-2.

Southwest has already played their next contest (against Wheaton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Marionville, they will square off against Spokane at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
