Basketball Recap: West Carroll Comes Up Short

West Carroll fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Ashton-Franklin Center on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 59-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ashton-Franklin Center Raiders. The Thunder have struggled against the Raiders recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Ashton-Franklin Center can attribute much of their success to Nate Becker, who posted 19 points. Aaron Lester was another key player, putting up ten points.

West Carroll's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Ashton-Franklin Center, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-4.

West Carroll will square off against Pecatonica at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Ashton-Franklin Center, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Durand at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ashton-Franklin Center is facing Durand at the right time seeing as Durand is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
