Football Preview: South Newton Rebels vs. West Central Trojans        
        
		
             South Newton is 1-6 against West Central since September of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit  on Friday. The South Newton Rebels will host the West Central Trojans  at 7:30  p.m.
 South Newton is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 48  points  two weeks ago, they were much more limited against Tri-County  on Friday. They had to suffer through a   34-6 loss at the hands of the Cavaliers.
 Meanwhile,  winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better  (just ask West Central). They claimed a resounding  44-16 victory over North Newton at home. The  game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached  30-8.
  Addison Huber was nothing short of spectacular: he threw for 165 yards and four touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes, and also rushed for 74 yards on only six carries. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D,  making a tackle and defending a pass in addition to snagging   an  interception.  Drea Villarreal was another key player, rushing for 96 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.
 He was just one part of a punishing run game: West Central was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 235  rushing yards. That's the most  rushing yards they've managed all season.
 South Newton's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for West Central, they now also have a winning record of 3-2.
 South Newton took a serious blow against West Central  in their previous matchup  back in September of 2023, falling  54-6. That  match was all but decided by halftime, at which point South Newton was down  48-6.
