Summit Academy will be up against a hot Layton Christian Academy team: the squad just extended their winning streak to five. Layton Christian Academy blew past American Leadership Academy 76-12 on Friday. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 69-12.
Chris Munroe had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 163 yards and one score on only five carries, while also throwing for 192 yards and a pair of TDs on only 14 passes. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 76-yard run.
Layton Christian Academy didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited American Leadership Academy to a completion percentage of just 45.8%. Layton Christian Academy's defense didn't let the opposing QB, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for four sacks. In that department, William Wittenberg was the leader with three. Summit Academy now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Layton Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.
We should be in store for an exciting game as the two teams have no problem gaining yardage. Layton Christian Academy has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 379.8 total yards per game. However, it's not like Summit Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 376.8 total yards. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.
