Nandua starts season with win at home

The Nandua Warriors gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand Churchland a 3-0 shutout. For Nandua, this counts as revenge for the 2-0 loss Churchland walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2023.
Nandua was led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Kevin Tinoco and
Alex Plowden, who scored all three of Nandua's goals.
This is the second loss in a row for Churchland and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nandua will challenge Oscar Smith at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Nandua and Oscar Smith are at an even 2-2-2 over their past six head-to-heads. As for Churchland, they will head out on the road to face off against Nansemond River at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
