Freeland took a 22-point defeat the last time they faced off against Midland, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Freeland Falcons sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 51-49 win over the Midland Chemics on Tuesday. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Chemics recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Freeland's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-3. As for Midland, their loss dropped their record down to 18-2.

Freeland and Midland should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. Freeland will challenge Garber at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday up 209 places (19 vs. 228). Meanwhile, Midland (ranked ninth) will meet Traverse City Central (ranked 64th) at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
