Basketball Game Preview: Muscatine Muskies vs. Davenport West Falcons

Muscatine is 2-8 against Davenport West since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Muscatine Muskies will head out to face off against the Davenport West Falcons at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Davenport West is hoping to do what North Scott couldn't on Tuesday: put an end to Muscatine's winning streak, which now stands at three games. Muscatine walked away with a 60-53 victory over North Scott.

Meanwhile, Davenport West suffered their closest defeat since December 12, 2023 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Assumption by a score of 73-70. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (55), the Falcons still had to take the loss.

Muscatine's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Davenport West, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Muscatine suffered a grim 64-43 defeat to Davenport West in their previous matchup back in February. Can Muscatine avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
