Baseball Recap: Goleman Takes a Loss

Goleman lost against Hialeah back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Goleman Gators fell just short of the Hialeah Thoroughbreds by a score of 8-7. The Gators have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sebastian Fernandez was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched.

At the plate, Ryan Godinez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Bryant Hernandez was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Even though they lost, Goleman kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Goleman's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Hialeah, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Goleman will face off against Everglades at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hialeah, they will challenge Coral Reef at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hialeah is facing Coral Reef at the right time seeing as Coral Reef is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
