Baseball Recap: Aptos Comes Up Short

If Aptos was feeling good fresh off their 11-5 takedown of Santa Clara last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mariners came up short against the Harbor Pirates on Wednesday, falling 9-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mariners of the 5-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Aptos saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isaiah Work, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Aptos' defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Harbor, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-2.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Aptos will square off against rival Santa Cruz at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Harbor is set to face off against their familiar foe Soquel at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Pirates 2.5, the Knights 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
