If Port St. Lucie was riding high fresh off their 69-5 takedown of Pineapple Cove Classical Academy last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Port St. Lucie Jaguars took a 36-25 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Westwood Panthers on Thursday. The Jaguars' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Westwood to victory, but perhaps none more so than Te'Anaina Rivers, who posted eight points and five steals. Rivers has become a key player for Westwood: the team is 8-4 when she posts at least five steals, but 1-3 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jazmyne Jones, who put up nine points.

Port St. Lucie now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Westwood, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-7.

Port St. Lucie will take on St. Edward's at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Westwood, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Melbourne at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Melbourne will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Westwood surely won't give up without a fight.
