Football Recap: Mitchell Mountaineers vs. Corvian Community Cardinals
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Mitchell can now relate to. They were outmatched by the Corvian Community Cardinals on the road and fell 42-6. Having soared to a lofty 39 points in the game before, the Mountaineers couldn't push the score so high this time.
This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Cam Johnson and Noah Best. Johnson rushed for 116 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries while Best rushed for 93 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries.
Mitchell's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Corvian Community, the victory for them keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.
Mitchell does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Corvian Community has also already played their next game, a 27-14 win against Eastern Randolph on the 29th.
