Basketball Recap: Philip Scotties vs. Leola/Frederick Titans
After flying high against the Lead-Deadwood Golddiggers last Thursday, the Philip Scotties came back down to earth. Philip took a 49-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Titans on Saturday.
Despite the loss, Philip had strong showings from Josie Jones, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds, and Drew Terkildsen, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Terkildsen pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kale Peterson, who scored five points along with two steals.
Philip's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Leola/Frederick, their victory bumped their record up to 12-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Philip will take on the Coyotes at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Leola/Frederick, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Wolverines at 8:00 p.m.
