Volleyball Recap: Vermont Commons Finds Playoff Glory Versus Mt. Abraham

With a playoff win on the line, Vermont Commons rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Mt. Abraham Eagles. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 3-1 win back in September.

Vermont Commons had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-21, 25-21, 26-24.

Ro Dougherty-Mas? paced Vermont Commons' offense, picking up seven kills. Dougherty-Mas? really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with four. She also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Yutong Li, each putting up eight.

The victory made it two in a row for Vermont Commons and bumps their season record up to 5-10. As for Mt. Abraham, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-10.

As of now, neither Vermont Commons nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
