Softball Recap: Stafford Takes a Loss

Stafford fell victim to Van Vleck and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Van Vleck Leopards, falling 15-0. The match marked the first time this season in which the Spartans were not able to get on the board.

Stafford saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noehli Torres, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

The defeat snapped Stafford's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-5-1 record. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11.3 runs. As for Van Vleck, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Stafford will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Sealy at 6:00 p.m. on March 18th. Van Vleck also won't see the field for a while: their next contest is against Sacred Heart at 4:00 p.m. on March 14th.
