Basketball Recap: Stephenville FAITH Takes a Loss

Stephenville FAITH was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They took a 56-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Weatherford Express HomeSchool Express. If the Knights were looking for revenge after losing 64-39 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, Stephenville FAITH saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Seven Baker dropped a double-double on 28 points and ten boards. Those 28 points gave Baker a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Case Necessary, who posted two points and seven rebounds.

Even though they lost, Stephenville FAITH was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Stephenville FAITH's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Weatherford Express HomeSchool, they pushed their record up to 9-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Stephenville FAITH will take on Nazarene Christian Academy in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Weatherford Express HomeSchool, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against THESA at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Weatherford Express HomeSchool knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully THESA likes a good challenge.
