Recap: Riverside Christian Wranglers vs. Lafayette Hornets
The Riverside Christian Wranglers's 31-2 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They were beaten by Lafayette 61-34 on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Riverside Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 588th, while Lafayette is ranked 175th).
Several Wranglers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kyle Spratlin, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds. Spratlin also posted two blocks for the first time this season.
Lafayette was led to victory by Tywan Williamson and Jordan Murphy. Williamson scored 14 points along with six assists and four steals, while Murphy scored ten points along with six steals. Amarie Fleming was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Riverside Christian and nudges their season record down to 1-3. As for Lafayette, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Riverside Christian will take on Countryside Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lafayette, they will be playing at home against Chiefland at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
