Volleyball Recap: Trynyty Nail's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Struthers over Howland

Struthers was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Howland Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 2-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2022.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-18, 25-11.

Struthers lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Trynyty Nail, who had 11 digs and one assist. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Elliana Benson, who had ten assists and eight digs.

Struthers' loss dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Howland, they pushed their record up to 13-9 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Struthers will venture away from home to square off against Holy Name at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Howland, they will head out to challenge Ursuline at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
