Softball Game Preview: Gulf Breeze Dolphins vs. Milton Panthers

Gulf Breeze is 8-2 against Milton since March of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Dolphins will take on the Panthers at 6:30 p.m. Gulf Breeze is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.

Gulf Breeze had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Destin on Friday. The Dolphins put the hurt on the Sharks with a sharp 8-1 win.

Jessica Jagar made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sally Alberson, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Gulf Breeze was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Destin only posted a batting average of .192.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Milton's offense. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Niceville on Thursday. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Gulf Breeze's record is now 3-0. As for Milton, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Gulf Breeze couldn't quite get it done against Milton in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 as they fell 7-2. Can the Dolphins avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
