Recap: Mounds Golden Eagles vs. Wellston Tigers
The Mounds Golden Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 41-19 defeat at the hands of Wellston. Mounds has struggled against Wellston recently, as their game on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Mounds lost, one person who can't be blamed is Baylie Harig. Despite the final result, she scored 6 points along with 5 steals. Harig scored a full 31.6% of Mounds' points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Mounds' defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Wellston, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mounds will face off against Porter at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wellston, they will head out on the road to face off against Crescent at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
