Omaha South dropped their record down to 7-4 on Saturday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Westview Wolverines by a score of 12-11. The Packers were not able to make up for their loss to the Wolverines from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Lou Hodoly made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Zane Carroll, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

As for Westview, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-4. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games.

On Westview's side, Kaleb Reiching looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kevin Rempe, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Smith, who earned two runs and three stolen bases.

Omaha South didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 10-3 defeat against Ralston on the 7th. As for Westview, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 11-3 loss against Elkhorn South on the 8th.
