It was a good run, but Langley unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-match winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the George C. Marshall Statesmen by a score of 3-2. The Saxons were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Statesmen earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

Langley's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 9-1 and their overall record down to 16-4. As for George C. Marshall, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season.

After both having extra time off, Langley and McLean will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games the Highlanders have played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for George C. Marshall, they are taking a road trip to square off against Herndon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
