Baseball Recap: Canon City Takes a Loss

Canon City lost against Falcon back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Tigers fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 6-5.

Canon City saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trey Schumaker, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that Schumaker has launched this season. Tanner Leonard was another, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Canon City's defeat dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Falcon, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-3-1.

Coming up, Canon City will venture away from home to take on Coronado at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Falcon, they will host Manitou Springs at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Falcons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season.
