Basketball Recap: Legend Williams' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Redan over South Atlanta

Redan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They took a 46-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of the South Atlanta Hornets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 37-27 last Tuesday.

Redan's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Legend Williams, who posted six points and five steals. The dominant performance gave Williams a new career-high in steals. Aubri Brooks also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assists of the season.

Even though they lost, Redan smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Redan's defeat dropped their record down to 1-16. As for South Atlanta, their win bumped their record up to 5-17.

Redan has already played their next contest, a 54-15 loss against Columbia on the 4th. South Atlanta has also already played their next match (against Salem), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
