Basketball Recap: Redford Union Comes Up Short

Redford Union lost against Old Redford Academy back in February of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Redford Union Panthers were beaten by the Old Redford Academy Ravens 67-40. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 185th, while the Ravens are ranked 37th).

Redford Union's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-8. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.5 points over those games. As for Old Redford Academy, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-3.

Redford Union does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Old Redford Academy, they will face off against University Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. University Prep will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Old Redford Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
