Football Recap: Oneonta Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Oneonta lost against Boaz back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Redskins took a 34-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pirates. While the Redskins had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Pirates 7-0.

When it comes to explaining why Oneonta lost, don't look at Maddox Byrd. Despite the final result, he picked up 121 receiving yards and one score.

Boaz's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Beau Bennett led the charge by throwing for 260 yards and four touchdowns while completing 77.3% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave Bennett a new career-high in passer rating (155.3). Boaz's leading receiver Sage Bennett was Beau's top target yet again, picking up 147 receiving yards and one TD.

Oneonta's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Boaz, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2.

Oneonta does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Boaz, they will face off against Russellville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
