Volleyball Recap: Shawnee Mission South Takes a Loss

Shawnee Mission South was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Louisburg Wildcats. The Raiders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Shawnee Mission South was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Louisburg work for it, especially in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 20-25, 26-24.

Shawnee Mission South's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8-1. As for Louisburg, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

Shawnee Mission South didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Shawnee Mission East on the 27th. As for Louisburg, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Basehor-Linwood on the 27th.
