Baseball Recap: Lenoir City Takes a Loss

Lenoir City fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against McMinn Central on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Chargers by a score of 11-10. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Chargers earlier this season, when they won 10-4.

Lenoir City's defeat dropped their record down to 7-18. As for McMinn Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lenoir City will challenge Hardin Valley Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Hawks will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last. As for McMinn Central, they will venture away from home to take on Ooltewah at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The Owls will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Chargers surely won't give up without a fight.
