Soccer Game Preview: Riverbend Academy vs. Eastland Christian

The Riverbend Academy Warriors are taking a road trip to face off against the Eastland Christian Hurricanes at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Riverbend Academy's favor is that they have posted at least four goals in their last seven contests.

Riverbend Academy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Florida's top teams: Cornerstone Academy, who was ranked 24th at the time (Riverbend Academy was ranked fourth). The Warriors were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over the Cougars on Friday. The result was nothing new for Riverbend Academy, who have now won seven games by four goals or more so far this season.

Their offense was hitting Cornerstone Academy from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal.

Meanwhile, it may have taken extra minutes to finish the job, but Eastland Christian ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They won by a goal and slipped past Liberty Christian Prep 7-6. The win was a breath of fresh air for Eastland Christian as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Eastland Christian's victory bumped their record up to 5-6-1. As for Riverbend Academy, they pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

Riverbend Academy skirted past Eastland Christian 3-2 when the teams last played back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
