Baseball Recap: Legacy Has No Trouble Against Chicago Christian

Legacy won against Skyline last Saturday with 14 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Lightning blew past the Chicago Christian Knights 14-3. Considering the Lightning have won three contests by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Jason Olsen was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He has become a key player for Legacy: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most two hits, but 1-3 otherwise. Olsen was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kellen Reiser, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Ethan Sanchez, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

The win made it two in a row for Legacy and bumps their season record up to 3-4. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Chicago Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-4.

Looking ahead, Legacy will face off against Ketchikan at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Chicago Christian, they will square off against Aurora Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
