Baseball Recap: Omaha Central Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Omaha Central lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Omaha Northwest, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's contest. The Eagles' pitcher stepped up to hand the Huskies a 10-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by ten runs or more this season.

Grant Hamill tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Omaha Central is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 7-10 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Luke Neujahr, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Mark Ripp also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Omaha Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Omaha Central's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-11. As for Omaha Northwest, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.
