Basketball Game Preview: Veterans Warhawks vs. Winder-Barrow Bulldoggs

The Veterans Warhawks will venture away from home to square off against the Winder-Barrow Bulldoggs at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Veterans was handed a 31-point defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Northside, sneaking past 60-58.

Veterans got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tristen Abner out in front who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 13 boards. Abner continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Jordan Watson was another key player, going 5-for-12 to rack up 13 points along with five assists and four steals.

Veterans smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Winder-Barrow waltzed into their contest on Thursday with 15 straight wins... but they left with 16. They blew past the Red Devils 78-58. The Bulldoggs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Veterans' record is now 16-12. As for Winder-Barrow, their record is now 24-2.
