Baseball Recap: Cardinal Sets Scoring Season-High Against Albia

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cardinal). They were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over the Albia Blue Demons on Wednesday. The Comets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by six runs or more this season.

Cardinal's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Albia, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-3.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Cardinal beat the Blue Demons by a score of 9-2 later that day.
