Softball Recap: McAllen Takes a Loss

McAllen managed to slip by Vela the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The McAllen Bulldogs came up short against the Vela Sabercats on Friday, falling 12-6. The Bulldogs just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Diana Villanueva was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Giada Farias was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

McAllen's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Vela, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-5 record this season.

McAllen will head out to take on Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Vela, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sharyland at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
