Basketball Recap: Lone Oak Comes Up Short

After flying high against Prairiland last Tuesday, Lone Oak came back down to earth. The Lone Oak Buffaloes fell just short of the Chisum Mustangs by a score of 58-56 on Saturday. The Buffaloes were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

With the defeat, Lone Oak broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 14-12. As for Chisum, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-11.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Rains the next time they take the court. Chisum will host Rains at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Lone Oak will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
