Basketball Recap: Midlothian Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Midlothian came into Friday's matchup having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They secured a 45-39 W over the Kaufman Lions on Friday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Panthers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 244th, while the Lions are ranked 104th).

Midlothian's win bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Kaufman, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 13-3.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Midlothian Panthers face off against the Ennis Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Kaufman will take on Red Oak in a holiday battle at at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Red Oak has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
