Football Game Preview: Park Hill Trojans vs. Liberty Blue Jays

The Park Hill Trojans will take on the Liberty Blue Jays at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Park Hill's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Park Hill South 35-0. That looming 35-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Trojans yet this season.

Meanwhile, Liberty put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They really took it to Central for the full four quarters, racking up a 63-21 win. Considering the Blue Jays have won three contests by more than 41 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Liberty's win came from a few key players Park Hill will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jace Hicks, who rushed for 136 yards and three TDs on only eight carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 65 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Another player making a difference was Colt Nolin, who rushed for 134 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries.

Liberty was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 443 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in three consecutive games.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for Liberty, racking up 14 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Deacon Price, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Park Hill now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Liberty, their victory bumped their record up to 5-0.

Things could have been worse for Park Hill, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 30-13 loss to Liberty in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. Thankfully for the Trojans, Jaxon Hicks (who rushed for 271 yards and a pair of scores) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
