Softball Recap: Arcadia Has No Trouble Against Vanlue

While Arcadia put up plenty of runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Vanlue. The Redskins blew past the Wildcats 12-0. The Redskins have beaten the Wildcats the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Wildcats has come to flipping the script.

Alanna Tucker made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

In other batting news, Arcadia got a massive performance out of Allyson McCartney, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave McCartney a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kateland Keefe, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Arcadia always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .520. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Vanlue only posted an OBP of .167.

Arcadia's win bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Vanlue, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Arcadia will host North Baltimore at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Vanlue, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bluffton at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats are facing the Pirates at the right time seeing as the Pirates are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
