Baseball Game Preview: Vance County Vipers vs. Sanderson Spartans

The Vance County Vipers will venture away from home to challenge the Sanderson Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 32 consecutive losses dating back to last season for Vance County and four for Sanderson.

Vance County lost 19-3 to South Granville on Tuesday.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Sanderson and Enloe meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Spartans took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles.

Sanderson saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was GAINES STALLWORTH, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. STALLWORTH also put up a double, which was his first of the season.

Sanderson's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Vance County, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-14.
