Baseball Recap: Ragsdale Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Victory

Ragsdale had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. Everything went their way against the Western Guilford Hornets as they made off with a 17-8 win. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won nine matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Carter Dulin and Dillon Bullard did most of the damage at the plate: Dulin got on base in three of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Bullard went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those four stolen bases gave Dulin a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylon Louis, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Ragsdale kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in six consecutive games.

Ragsdale pushed their record up to 16-6 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Western Guilford, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-18.
