Baseball Recap: Berkshire Find Success

While Berkshire's win against Harvey wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Badgers skirted past the Red Raiders 9-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Badgers have posted since May 6, 2024.

The team relied heavily on Patrick Brancel, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 2-for-3. Berkshire is 2-1 when Brancel posts two or more runs, but 0-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Bear Masink, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Berkshire lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

The win made it two in a row for Berkshire and bumps their season record up to 2-9. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Harvey, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Berkshire will take on Marlington at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Harvey, they will challenge Bristol at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
