Basketball Recap: Durant Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Durant extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping them down to 2-6. They took a blow against the Sickles Gryphons, falling 72-38. The Cougars were not able to make up for their loss to the Gryphons from their previous meeting back in January.

Defeat or not, Durant got some senior leadership from Nathan Moore and Niko Sosa. Moore shot 63% from the field to rack up 12 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals, while Sosa posted 11 points. Moore has also been stellar as far as shooting accuracy is concerned: he's posted one of at least 63% every time he's hit the court this season.

As for Sickles, their win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 22 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sickles to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jackson Byam, who went 8-for-12 on his way to 17 points and four steals. That's the most steals Byam has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of OV Nicholson, who shot 54% from the field en route to 17 points and seven boards.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Durant will face off against Plant City at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars will need to watch out since the Raiders have now posted at least 55 points in their last four contests. As for Sickles, they will take on Jefferson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Gryphons will be up against the Dragons' rather soft defense (which has allowed 70.57 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
